This two part documentary, based on Michael Pollan's bestselling book The Botany of Desire, tells the story of four everyday plants and the way they have domesticated humankind.

The Botany of Desire roams the world to visit the potato fields of Peru and Iowa, the apple forests of Kazakhstan, three indoor marijuana hot houses in the United States and the tulip markets of Amsterdam.

Exploring the natural history of four plants - the apple, the tulip, marijuana and corn - and the human desires that link their destinies to our own.
